Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ Reportedly Delayed Due to Payment Issues; Top Stars Still Await Dues
Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated comedy film Welcome To The Jungle, the third installment in the hit Welcome franchise, has reportedly come to a standstill. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the production has been on hold since August 2023, primarily due to financial difficulties, raising serious concerns about the film’s future.
Sources reveal that the movie, which kicked off its early schedules in late 2023, has made little progress since. Multiple planned shooting schedules over the past nine to ten months have been cancelled, reportedly due to cash flow issues, leaving many actors and crew members in limbo.
What makes the situation more complicated is the alleged non-payment of dues to several prominent cast members, including top Bollywood stars. These payment delays have not only caused frustration but have also led to the quiet exit of a few originally signed actors. Despite this, some of the remaining cast members continue to support the project, driven by their loyalty to the Welcome brand, which has enjoyed massive popularity since its inception.
Reports suggest that even the support staff of some actors have not been compensated, leading to growing discontent behind the scenes. However, those still attached to the project are reportedly willing to adjust their dates and schedules in hopes of completing the film, provided the financial situation improves.
Adding another layer to the story, it is reported that Akshay Kumar himself holds an 80% stake in Welcome To The Jungle, while the remaining 20% is owned by producer Firoz Nadiadwala and other stakeholders. This indicates Kumar’s deep involvement in the project—not just as a lead actor, but also as a major investor.
With mounting pressure to resume filming and a star-studded cast hanging in uncertainty, fans and industry insiders alike are keenly watching how and when this long-awaited comedy caper will overcome its financial hurdles and make its way back to the big screen.
