Tom Brady Would ‘Never’ Say Sofia Vergara Is Too Old to Date, Says Rep Amid Romance Rumors
Tom Brady is shutting down speculation that he dismissed actress Sofia Vergara as “too old” to date. A representative for the 47-year-old former NFL quarterback told PEOPLE exclusively that such claims are completely false.
“Tom never said, nor would he ever say, anything like this. It is pure fiction,” Brady’s rep stated in response to a recent report that alleged the seven-time Super Bowl champion made age-related comments about the 53-year-old Modern Family star.
Rumors of a possible romantic connection between Brady and Vergara began swirling after the two were seen mingling during a star-studded outing aboard the Ritz Carlton’s luxurious new superyacht, Luminara, in early July. According to Page Six, Brady had reportedly asked to sit next to Vergara during dinner on the yacht.
Adding fuel to the speculation, Vergara later posted a photo on Instagram from the event, showing herself seated next to Brady. In the candid snap, singer J Balvin is seen kissing her forehead as she laughs, eyes closed, while Brady smiles directly at the camera.
Despite the buzz, TMZ clarified that while the pair enjoyed the voyage together, they are not dating.
The lavish cruise was part of Luminara’s maiden voyage—a two-night journey for 400 VIP guests, setting sail from Rome to Malta on July 1. The guest list included a long lineup of A-listers such as Martha Stewart, Naomi Campbell, Ricky Martin, Kate Hudson, Nina Dobrev, Shaun White, Kendall Jenner, and Irina Shayk—Brady’s rumored ex-flame.
Brady has largely stayed out of the dating spotlight following his 2022 divorce from supermodel Gisele Bündchen, with whom he shares two children. He also co-parents his eldest son, Jack, 17, with ex-partner Bridget Moynahan.
Vergara, meanwhile, has also returned to single life after her 2023 divorce from actor Joe Manganiello. She has one son, Manolo, 32, from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez.
While romance rumors often follow high-profile celebrities, both Brady and Vergara appear to be enjoying their lives independently—for now.
