At Least 20 Injured in Iran’s Latest Missile Barrage on Israel as Haifa Explosion Sparks Concern
Tensions between Iran and Israel escalated further as at least 20 people in Israel were reported wounded in Iran’s latest missile barrage, according to Arutz Sheva, citing the country’s emergency services. The missile attacks are part of an ongoing conflict that has already disrupted the lives of tens of thousands of Israelis, forcing mass evacuations and widespread property damage.
According to Arutz Sheva, over 10,000 people have evacuated their homes due to the sustained threat, with more than 32,000 individuals filing for government compensation related to property and structural damage. This marks one of the most significant escalations in hostilities between the two nations in recent years.
Amid the barrage, an unexpected explosion occurred early this morning in the northern Israeli city of Haifa. Unusually, no air raid sirens were activated in the area prior to the blast. In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a statement acknowledging the explosion and confirming that it coincided with missile launches from Iran.
“During the launches carried out from Iran this morning towards the territory of the State of Israel, no alert was activated in the city of Haifa,” the IDF stated on X (formerly Twitter). “Initial investigation indicates that a fall was detected in the city area, and the possibility of an interceptor failure is being examined.”
The military further emphasized that the issue was not a malfunction of the city’s warning system. “An advance warning was issued to the area. The incident is being investigated,” the IDF clarified.
Local media, including The Times of Israel, reported that the Haifa blast left three individuals injured. Emergency responders and security forces have been deployed across the city to manage the aftermath and assess the possibility of additional unexploded ordnance or further threats.
As the conflict continues to unfold, Israeli authorities are urging civilians to remain alert and follow official guidance. The government is also reportedly reviewing its defense protocols and alert systems in the wake of the Haifa incident to prevent further lapses.
