Amid escalating tensions with Pakistan, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs held a press conference on Friday to address developments related to Operation Sindoor.
During the briefing, Colonel Sophia Qureshi stated:
- Pakistan has repeatedly violated Indian airspace, with the intention of gathering intelligence on India’s defense systems and classified information.
- She further revealed that Pakistan targeted western military bases, and that the Pakistani Army carried out heavy shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).
Colonel Qureshi added that:
- To avoid retaliation from India, Pakistan has been using civilian aircraft as a shield, which she described as a highly irresponsible tactic.
- Despite such provocations, the Indian Air Force has exercised restraint.
- However, she confirmed that several Indian soldiers were injured or martyred as a result of Pakistan’s actions.
- In India’s retaliatory response, Pakistan also suffered significant damage.
